Reboot

So, after five years, I have returned to my forgotten blog for a reboot... so here is my blog, version 2.0, renamed. Formerly Imngirti's Northern Experience, I have left the North, moved into the vast metropolis of Chicagoland, and begun work on my PhD in Musicology. Originally, my move to the North was intended to be a two-year contract, which turned into five wonderful years. However, we always meant to return to school to do our PhDs, and now, here we are.

One of the greatest struggles of city life has been the inability to form meaningful friendships. This was one of the greatest benefits of the Arctic. Somehow, in an urban area of 10 million people, it is far more difficult to find like-minded people than in an Inuit hamlet of some 2500. As a result, I write this blog entry with the idea that, maybe, I will be able to share some of the thoughts and ramblings that might normally be shared with friends and colleagues at a coffee shop, and now seem destined to the cybersphere. With any luck, I won't have to write here regularly, because I will find people with whom to share these ideas. We'll see...
